Presidential Candidate Ryan Binkley Reacts to Donald Trump Audio

FAIRFIELD, IOWA (June 28, 2023)–Republican presidential candidate Ryan Binkley responded today to the recently released audio of Donald Trump related to his indictment. He is available to discuss his position on this and other issues through a phone or video interview.

Binkley said that he did not think the indictment case against Donald Trump would likely make it to trial before the election due to the inevitable delays by both the defense and the prosecution. If Donald Trump does not win the primary, which we do not think he will, then there is also an even greater chance that the prosecution would drop the case altogether. That said, if Ryan Binkley wins the election and Donald Trump is prosecuted, he would “likely pardon” Donald Trump if the case continued to appear with the political bias that it does today.

“The charges appear to be politically motivated, but it is important to let the case progress through the court process,” Binkley said. “The court of public opinion is separate, though. We hear Trump’s words on an audio tape just released today. Did those words put America at risk? It doesn’t sound like they did. I think this whole case unfortunately leads to more divisiveness in our country, which hurts all of us.”

Binkley said the charges against Trump should not prohibit him from running. “It is up to each of my fellow Republican candidates to decide if they would pardon him, but we must all agree to unite around the nominee, whoever it turns out to be. And I think that’s the important answer to get from President Trump: If you have candidates agreeing to pardon you, are you agreeing to support the nominee who is chosen by the voters and the party?”

Binkley is a Texas businessman and pastor who announced his candidacy for president in April and has been canvassing in Iowa every week this month, meeting with thousands of elected officials, party leaders, donors, supporters and voters.

Binkley is the co-founder and CEO of Generational Group, a Dallas-based mergers and acquisitions firm that has grown to nearly 400 employees with 16 offices in North America and has sold over 8 billion dollars’ worth of businesses. He and his wife, Ellie, founded Create Church in the Dallas area to care for all members of the community through teaching God’s word, urban missions, food drives, youth ministry, and marriage support. As the founder of The Way to Freedom nonprofit, Binkley has fresh, creative ideas to foster unity and solve our nation’s problems.
